The Truth About Knitting Patterns

Nobody wants to hear this, but knitting patterns lie.  They probably don't mean to, but they do.  Recently, as in yesterday, I ran out of yarn for a project even though I had exact gauge and more than enough yarn.  I went back to the store where I had bought the yarn before, and it wasn't there.  There wasn't even a space for it on the shelf, so I think it might be discontinued.  I can still finish the project (I'm determined to do that no matter what, because it's a sweater for Myka).  But here's my advice to all ye knitters:  ALWAYS buy extra yarn to finish your project.
