Cat Tail

It's almost Halloween, my favorite holiday of the year!  I was the Cheshire Cat last year, but, sadly, I did not have a tail.  This year, I was determined to do better, so I made my own tail.

A cat tail!  And it's purple!
-US size 13 (9mm) straight needles
-Any color fuzzy yarn
-Worsted weight yarn in the same color
-Tapestry needle

CO- cast on
BO- bind off
k- knit
p- purl
st(s)- stitch(es)
garter st- k all rows
stockinette st- k 1 row, p 1 row
k2tog- knit 2 together
m1- make 1 st by picking up and knitting the bar in between the 2 sts

Making the tail:
CO 10 sts using both strands of yarn at the same time.
Work in garter st for 5 rows.
Switching to stockinette st, m1 at each edge every other row 5 times.
Work without increases in stockinette st until work measures 6.5 inches.
k2tog in the middle of the row every 4th row twice.
k2tog at each edge every 4th row until there are only 4 sts left.
BO all sts.

Weave in your ends.
Sew up the seams.
To attatch the tail, I would use a safety pin.  However, if you have another method, that works, too.
