Orchid Scarf

I just adore this scarf.  I've made so many variations of this, but this is probably my favorite.

Materials:
-US size 10.5 (6.5 mm) straight knitting needles
-Red Heart Super Saver yarn in Dark Orchid
-Yarn or tapestry needle
-6.5 mm crochet hook (optional)

Abbreviations:
sts- stitches
CO- cast on
BO- bind off
k- knit
p- purl
sl- slip
rep- repeat

Instructions:
CO 20 sts.
Work in stockinette st for 6 rows.
Row 7:  * k2, sl 1 * rep from * to last 2 sts, k2
Row 8:  sl 1, * k2, sl 1* to last st, k1
Row 9:  k1, sl 1 * k2, sl 1 * to end of row.
Rep rows 7-9 one more time.
Rep rows 1-12 until work measures 54 in. or desired length.
BO all sts.

Finishing:

Weave in your ends.
