Piano Playing Hat
I gave this hat to my friend, Jessica, for her birthday. She promised to wear it every time she played piano!
Abbreviations:
sts- stitches
k- knit
p- purl
CO- cast on
BO- bind off
k2tog- knit 2 together
yo- yarn over the needle
Materials:
-US size 7 (4.5 mm) circular or double-pointed needles
-Red Heart Soft worsted weight yarn
-Tapestry needle
Making the hat:
CO 60 sts.
Join in the round.
Work in k1 p1 rib for 5 rows.
Row 6: * k3, yo, k2tog *
Row 7 and all alternate rows: k all sts
Row 8: k1, * yo, k2tog, k3 *, yo, k2tog, k2
Row 10: k4, * yo, k2tog, k3 *, k1
Row 12: k2, * yo, k2tog, k3 *, yo, k2tog, k1
Row 14: * yo, k2tog, k3 *
Work rows 6-15 until work measures 7.5 inches.
Decrease all sts until there are only 20 sts left on the needle.
BO all sts.
Finishing:
Sew up the top and weave in your ends!
