Maryful Legwarmers
Mary wanted orange legwarmers, so I made them for her! Don't they look cute?
And I also know that y'all are thinking, "Thank Gandhi! It's not another hat pattern!"
Here's how I made them:
Abbreviations:
sts- stitches
CO- cast on
BO- bind off
k- knit
p- purl
m1- make 1 st by picking up and knitting the bar in between 2 sts
sl- slip st
garter st- k all rows
Materials:
-US size 10.5 (6.5 mm) straight knitting needles
-Red Heart Super Saver yarn in Carrot
-Tapestry needle
Legwarmers (make 2, unless you have a different number of legs):
CO 36 sts.
Work in garter st for 5 rows.
Row 6: k1 * m1, k1, sl "made" st over the knitted st * repeart from * to end of row
Row 7: P all sts.
Repeat rows 6 and 7 until work measures approx. 13.5 inches.
Work in garter st for 5 rows.
BO all sts.
Finishing:
Sew up sides.
Weave in your ends.

what is m1?

ReplyDelete"m1" means to make a stitch. This can be done in several ways, some make a hole, some do not.
